The trail begins deep in the Zambezi floodplain at the border town of Chirundu.
The river meanders through the spectacular Mana Pools area, a World Heritage Site, renowned for its incredible
abundance of variety of wildlife. Here the river is filtered by a series of channels and pools, which attract
vast quantities of animals. Large herds of buffalo swim out to the grassy islands, and many pods of hippo bathe
in the clear waters. This is the Eden of people's dreams - a safari that will satisfy the most thirsty desire
for adventure and a wildlife experience. At Mana Pools the Zambezi meanders through a wide valley of channels,
sandbanks and islands with Zambia on one side and Zimbabwe on the other. It is these lagoons and channels that
attract hordes of Africa's largest animals in the dry season and make this probably the greatest concentration
of wildlife in the whole of this great continent
